Role
A role suitable for a developer with a clear track record of building effective enterprise-connected user experiences with .NET-based client applications – the role will likely include a mixture of these duties initially:
- Developing, maintaining and supporting .NET-based client applications and tools
- Occasionally developing web services and platform infrastructure
- Learning .NET frameworks, techniques, patterns and practices
- Studying towards MCTS and MCPD qualifications if not already achieved and maintaining appropriate on-going Microsoft certifications
- Software localisation, building and testing
- Supporting development of content delivery systems, enterprise information systems and content development tools
- Performing administration tasks on various systems

- Minimum skills:
- A good level of demonstrable project skills* (on 3 recent projects, lasting 2+ solid months each) using all of (most important first):
- WPF 3.0+ or Silverlight 2.0+
- .NET Framework 3.5+ (inc. LINQ) with VB.NET or C#
- WCF & Web Services
- Windows Forms in .NET 2.0+
- XML & ADO.NET
- Either an IT degree or one of:
- MCPD: Windows Developer 3.5 on Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
- MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5 Windows Presentation Foundation Applications
* demonstrable project skills means being able to demonstrate with the required level of accuracy, competency and efficiency (in CV, interviews and testing), knowledge of the requested skills and in-depth (not just supporting) usage/contribution of those skills in completed projects.
- Minimum requirements:
- Be appropriately resourceful and a keen trouble-shooter, including use of appropriate external resources such as Microsoft MSDN along with third party websites and books
- Have fluent/clear written and verbal English communication skills and be practised in documenting and following policies and practices
- Have a professional attitude, good work ethic and efficiently pursue attention to detail
- Be prepared to work with other team members and deal with users' software issues as well as successfully explaining software usage practices, policies and (advanced) features to users
- Must reside in the UK and be legally allowed to work in the UK for at least the next 2 years
- Currently be on no more than one months notice period and be available for phone and office based interviews

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 plus private medical and travel insurance
