Mike Price is a Director of Better Strategy Ltd a specialist in developing strategy, change management and consulting skills. His background includes leadership roles in management consulting, strategic planning, and engineering R&D.
Mike joined Imparta in January 2000 and, until December 2002, was Head of the Executive Education group with responsibility for leading the application of Imparta’s strategy simulation, Strategy CoPilot with corporate clients.
Mike has been teaching strategy programmes full time since 2003 and now designs and delivers learning programmes for a wide variety of clients including: O2, WPP, the Institute of Actuaries, KPMG, IBM, EDS, the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, and Standard & Poors’ to name just a few.
Previously, Mike was a strategy consultant at Arthur D. Little (ADL) for more than five years, being a board member of the firm’s Global Strategy & Organisation Practice and leading the UK Strategy Practice for three years. He also led the firm’s strategy training faculty, designing and delivering courses and training new faculty. Before ADL, Mike worked in in the defence and aerospace industry primarily with British Aerospace after a year with MOD(PE).
Mike’s diverse industry experience includes the private sector (aerospace, defence, food manufacturing, electronics, software, packaging, logistics, metals, engineering and manufacturing, automotive, chemicals, financial services, telecommunications, IT and gaming), professional services (management consultants, accountants, marketing, actuaries, private equity), and the public sector (defence, nuclear, health and enterprise agencies).
Mike also has valuable experience in the educational sector, teaching at London Business School and Henley Management College, through his involvement as a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Bath School of Management, and facilitating strategy development at the former NHS University and at the National School of Government.
Mike has taught a variety of strategy courses and undertaken consulting assignments in a variety of cultures including most of Western Europe, the USA, India, Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong.
Mike is a Chartered Engineer with an MBA (with Distinction) from Lancaster University. His Batchelor’s degree was in Communications Engineering and he also has a postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (DipM) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Mike is a Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (MIET) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM).
