Manager-Led Coaching
Before training individuals in a new skill set, Imparta generally begins by building their managers’ coaching skills, and then providing practice in how and when to coach the specific new skills being rolled out. Managers may also be present at the workshops attended by their team members, so that they can gain practice applying their coaching skills in a controlled environment.
Even with these measures in place, it can be shocking to see how quickly even the most enthusiastic managers revert to a “tell” rather a “coach” style. Cementing a change in behaviour, therefore, requires simple but effective measurement of the quality and quantity of coaching. This allows you to “close the loop” with individual managers, helping to embed coaching into your culture.
We also offer a “coach the coach” service – using our professional coaches to observe managers as they work with their teams and providing personal feedback, guidance and coaching to them in turn. This can have a dramatic impact on the performance of managers and teams alike.
Finally, we offer a range of coaching tools and templates, including observation forms and “troubleshooters” that enable managers to stay one step ahead of their teams.
